Galloway, NJ (March 6, 2017) – Custom artwork produced by local elementary and middle school students will appear on the grounds tickets for the 2017 ShopRite LPGA Classic Presented by Acer, tournament organizers announced today. This March, hundreds of students from Egg Harbor Township elementary and middle schools are creating and submitting designs, and later this month a panel of judges will select four total winners. The winning designs will be unveiled during the tournament’s annual Media Day event in May at the Stockton Seaview Hotel and Golf Club.
“We’re excited to partner with ShopRite, Acer and Egg Harbor Township on this contest,” said Leela Narang, tournament director of the ShopRite LPGA Classic Presented by Acer. “This community is such an important part of our tournament and we’re thrilled to feature the creativity of students on our tickets.”
The three schools with the highest participation rate will receive $500 cash prizes, courtesy of ShopRite. There are six participating schools: Clayton J. Davenport Complex; Slaybaugh Complex; H. Russell Swift School; Dr. Joy D. Miller School; Alder Avenue Middle School; and Fernwood Avenue Middle School.
“ShopRite is proud to once again feature student artwork on our LPGA tournament tickets, and we are excited to see this year's designs from local schools,” said Karen Gozzi, vice president of social media and digital advertising for Wakefern Food Corp. “This contest is a great example of how we partner with communities as part of the ShopRite LPGA Classic Presented by Acer, which donates money to dozens of charities in the neighborhoods where our ShopRite stores operate.”
In addition to having their artwork on the faces of the daily grounds tickets, each winning student will receive a prize package highlighted by an Acer E 15 laptop.
“We are excited to see the artwork submissions from hundreds of students,” said Kim Phipps, Senior Director of Global Marketing & Brand for Acer America. “Partnering with ShopRite on this contest is a great way to collaborate with the local community, and to see from the kids what they find compelling about the LPGA.”
This is the third consecutive year the tournament has held a contest to feature student artwork on its tickets.
