East Hartford, CT (Feb.15, 2017) – ShopRite and the University of Connecticut will team up for a great cause when the Huskies host Temple University on Wednesday, Feb. 22 at 7:00 p.m. All fans who donate a non-perishable food item near the entrances to the XL Center will be entered to win an autographed, Geno Auriemma basketball and four tickets to a future game. Food donations will benefit Hands On Hartford—a Foodshare partner serving our hungry neighbors here in Greater Hartford.
ShopRite has a longstanding tradition of helping local families through its ShopRite Partners In Caring program. Forty-two million Americans—including nearly 13 million children—struggle to put food on the table. In response, ShopRite Partners In Caring, a community-based, hunger-fighting charity, helps raise awareness and inspire action within local communities. Since its inception in 1999, ShopRite Partners In Caring has donated $43 million to local food banks that support more than 2,100 charities in providing food assistance throughout the Northeast.
