After January fire, supermarket to reopen with expanded products and services

ELLENVILLE, NY (April 1, 2013) – Three months after fire caused extensive damage to the ShopRite in Ellenville, the company today announced that the location will reopen April 7, 2013 with a wide array of new offerings and services.

“While the damage caused by the fire was extensive, our commitment to the Ellenville community never wavered,” said Tom Urtz, ShopRite Supermarkets vice president of human resources and community affairs. “We turned this challenge into an opportunity to not only rebuild, but to remake the store and come back better than ever.”

Among the improvements, ShopRite of Ellenville will now offer wider aisles, expanded departments, an on-site Registered Dietitian to help customers shop for healthy choices or specialized dietary needs, and direct home grocery delivery.

The doors of the new ShopRite of Ellenville will open at 7 a.m. on Sunday, April 7, 2013 and local elected officials and community leaders will join representatives of ShopRite at 9 a.m. for a ribbon cutting ceremony.

“Throughout the rebuilding process, the Ellenville community has been tremendously supportive and understanding and we can’t thank them enough for all they have done. It is our hope that all of our valued shoppers will stop by and share in this exciting new chapter in the ShopRite – Ellenville partnership,” Urtz said.
