Price Rite Marketplace announced its newest store opened on April 7 at Fields Corner in Dorchester, MA., located at 500 Geneva Ave. The 22,000-square-foot supermarket features a wide selection of fresh produce, natural and organic products, ethnic foods and a variety of private label and national grocery brands, all at an everyday low price.
The Price Rite Marketplace of Dorchester is owned and operated by Madison Foods, a third-generation family-owned business that also owns three additional Price Rite Marketplace stores in the Boston area. The Dorchester store features a market-style produce department brimming with fresh fruits and vegetables; a ‘Drop Zone’ stocked with special surprise buys on must-have grocery items, typically priced at $5 or less; and a full-service, fresh meat department. Customers will also find a wide selection of Wholesome Pantry and Bowl &Basket private label products, with free-from, organic, and gluten-free options. The new store brings 65 jobs to the local community.
“We are proud to provide our shoppers with the outstanding customer service, variety and value that are the hallmarks of Price Rite Marketplace,” said Todd Slawsby, president of Madison Foods. “We believe that customers should not have to sacrifice quality to save on price and are excited to deliver on that promise to offer a great shopping experience to the Dorchester community.”
The Slawsby family has been operating grocery stores in the Boston area since the 1940s, when Todd’s grandfather, Ben Slawsby, started a meat market in Dorchester that eventually became Capitol Foods. Todd Slawsby, president of Madison Foods, runs Madison Foods with his father, Harold, and brother, Jonathan.
The Price Rite Marketplace of Dorchester is open 8am-8pm Monday-Saturday and 8am-6pm Sunday. For more information, please visit www.PriceRiteMarketplace.com
